About

I am a 37 year old artist/writer/feminist/geek/LGBT rights activist. I’ve been an activist since the age of eighteen, though I have always been political. I’ve been involved with Lesbian Health Initiative, Houston GLBT Parents, Community Awareness for Transgender Support, and the Houston GLBT Community Center. I volunteered at the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force’s Creating Change conference in Dallas in 1994 and 2010.

I have been involved in the bisexual community since 1994. I was the first coordinator for BiNet USA’s Bisexual Youth Initiative in 1994-1995. I have been a member of DFW BiNet since 2009.

I am a member of the Femme Mafia ATX, a community of self-identified femmes. I’m involved in starting a group for femmes in Dallas/Ft. Worth/Denton. I’m also a member of Stonewall Democrats of Austin and involved with Equality Across America—Texas.

I write about political and social issues, and I have been featured in magazines and on the Internet. I paint psychedelic pieces using acrylics and mixed media.

I am a native Houstonian, seventh-generation Texan, and Mayflower descendant on my mother’s side. On my dad’s side my family can be traced back to the early 1700s in Louisiana.

I lived in Austin on and off since 1992. I moved to Denton, Texas in August 2010.

I have attended Houston Community College, Texas State Technical College, and Austin Community College, majoring in art. My goal is to graduate from Texas Woman’s University.

I am a geek, but I am more into politics, women’s studies, and history than science fiction or RPGs.

I own more pink items of clothing at age 37 than I did at age 6. Tinkerbell and Hello Kitty are the shiznit!

I dig all types of music, from electronica to country, jazz to hip-hop, metal to classic rock. I especially love cheesy 70s soft rock.

I love sports—especially football. The Texas Longhorns are my favorite team. The Aggies can kiss my ass. Hook ‘em Horns! My second fave team are the New Orleans Saints.
